Sometimes new places become the talk of the town. Sliders, an up-and-coming burger bar in Nørrebro, definitely belongs in that category. When Sliders opened in winter, people came from all over Copenhagen to see what the fuss was about. My friends talked about the cool concept, my roomie gushed about the delicious food and the people at work discussed buying takeaway from Sliders as the weather gets warmer.

One of the reasons behind the hype about Sliders is their unique style of serving food. At Sliders, the customer buys three mini burgers, called ‘sliders,’ and a sider order, for 119 dkk. There are nine different sliders to choose from in total, including everything from classic pulled pork to different versions of duck. Not only are the sliders mouth-wateringly tasty, they are also reasonably priced. Moreover, after two mini burgers and four delicious pommes frites, I was full. I put the last burger in my bag, with the intention of saving it to eat the following day.

In many ways, Sliders reminds me of a regular fast food chain. The customer enters, places an order, receives a number and collects the food in a big paper bag when that number is called. Ready to go or to stay. There are many tables and chairs, all wooden. Although they are not the most comfortable chairs, they are fine for a few hours. You can buy beers in big cans, something that invites the guest to come in small groups and stay for a few hours. Judging by the experience I had at Sliders, my guess is that many pre-parties will be starting here from now on.
