A few months ago it was the Film Critic Guy’s birthday. A few days ago, I finally gave him his present – a visit to a secret restaurant that both of have wanted to visit for some time.
The restaurant is called POP et spiseri, and we’ve actually visited it once before. It was a year ago, and at that time, it was only called Spiseri. The Italian food was almost the same, but the concept of the restaurant wasn’t. Then it was like any other restaurant, where you can pick a dish at the menu. That’s not an option any longer. Instead an evening at POP costs 600 dkk/person. You get four dishes, five types of wine and coffee. The girls running the restaurant have decided on both the dishes and wines for you, so all you got to do, is to lean back and enjoy your evening and the good food.
I would say that POP is Italian food served with a pinch of Danish charm. The girls are rocking the floor in the restaurant, and in the 600 dkk per person, you get more wine when your glass gets close to empty. There is no greedy service staff here. The atmosphere is good, the place is tiny and the food delicious. And the wine, as I said, continues to come. What’s not to like?
