Guide to Copenhagen: The StandardGuide to Copenhagen: The StandardGuide to Copenhagen: The StandardGuide to Copenhagen: The Standard

Being a foodie with a well-developed interest in design and interior, I didn’t consider for long when Linn asked me to share my favourite place in Copenhagen. The Standard! Here you get it all: great food and great ambiance in beautiful surroundings. Plus, you even have a view to the harbour. It doesn’t get more Copenhagen-like than that!

In this beautiful light green and oval waterfront building, you will find no less than three restaurants and a jazz club. Being the newest addition to the Claus Meyer dominated restaurant scene in Copenhagen, The Standard does set a high standard, and here you can take your pick out of the different menus each with a different budget, so there’s something for everyone.

The Michelin awarded restaurant Studio serves new Nordic gastronomy to those with some money to spend and here Torsten Vildgaard, an earlier noma-chef works his magic with courses made of Nordic ingredients inspired by the world.

Downstairs you will find Almanak, the more budget-friendly restaurant and café serving modern Danish food at breakfast, lunch and dinner time, and last but not least you have the option of Verandah next door serving modern Pan-Indian food composed of regional, seasonal ingredients on beautiful marble tables. This restaurant designed in a verandah-like style with trees and plants all over is definitely worth a peek!

From The Standard you have easy access to both the waterfront, Central Copenhagen and the charming and quaint neighborhood of Christianshavn just on the other side of the canal, where taking a stroll is highly recommended.
