A few days ago, I met with Julie. She started the great second hand guide CPH Treasures, which guide second hand-interested people around Copenhagen. We met in Heimdalsgade, at a small new café called “Vi mødtes gennem ruden”. I was quite excited to try the café, because I very rarely go that far out at Nørrebro.

When arriving to Vi mødtes gennem ruden, I immediately discovered that it’s quite perfect. It’s small and one of the owners told me that all the furniture have been collected from friends and neighbors around the street. The owners want the café to connect the people living in the street to each other, to be a place where they can meet for coffee and some small talk. I like the thought, especially since Heimdalsgade don’t really offer the people living there anything else.

I adore the style that the owners have been able to create at the café, especially when all the furniture and things come from others. A few weeks ago the café got free wifi, and I can definitely see myself sitting there working an afternoon every now and then…
