Copenhagen might not be the most vegetarian-friendly city in the world, but if you know where to look, there are a few good places around town. Here are three favorite places of mine, that all serve vegetarian dishes.

Café N
Café N is a tiny café in Blågårdsgade at Nørrebro. They have a great mixture of vegetarian and vegan dishes, and I’m extra fond of their vegetarian falafel. Sometimes it’s a bit hard to get a seat here (it’s popular, you know!), but if you can, it’s perfect for lunch or dinner. In the summer there are lots of seating outside, and Blågårdsgade, where it’s situated, is a really nice “hipster”-street.
Address: Blågårdsgade 17, Nørrebro

The name of this place almost says it all. SimpleRAW makes vegetarian and vegan rawfood, which means that the dishes haven’t been heated to more than 42 degrees. SimpleRAW is decorated with home made wodden tables, and you almost feel like you’ve entered a kindergarden for grown ups when you step inside. My favorite dish here is the sandwich with portobello paté – it’s fantastic. If you want more (or less) than a sandwich, SimpleRAW serves breakfast, dinner and snacks as well.
Address: Oehlenschlægersgade 12, Vesterbro

It’s no secret that I really love Kalaset. They have a little bit of everything on their menu, and if you’re a vegetarian, they serve a brunch and a burger without meat. This place might look a bit messy when you step inside – there are lots of people, lots of tables and not that much space. I adore it, but if you want to visit a quiet and calm place – you better go somewhere else.
Address: Vendersgade 16, central Copenhagen
