Røde Roses Kaffebar reminds me about Berlin. The first time I visited Oderberger Strasse in Prenzlauer Berg, it was closed for traffic because of a big renovation. We walked pass several different cafés, and it was something special about the big sidewalks, the slow tempo and the relaxed style. Røde Roses Kaffebar and Balders Plads, the square where it’s situated, reminds me about Oderberger Strasse.

In many ways, Balders Plads is a hidden treasure at Nørrebro. While people usually enjoy their coffee at Jægersborggade or Stefansgade, a lot of people don’t know that much about Balders Plads. It’s a pity, since it’s real nice. However, in the same time it’s great, because that means that it still has that special local charm.

When it’s sunshine outside, Røde Roses Kaffebar is fantastic. When it’s raining, or it’s too cold to sit outside, I try to catch the small table in the window. For coffee outside or in the window, Røde Roses Kaffebar is pretty perfect. It’s possible to eat and drink a lot more there, but I prefer their americano. It’s big as a bowl and really good.
