A few years ago, Mokkariet and I were neighbors. It was the closest to a ”café on the corner” I could get with my address at that time, and I sure tried it out every now and then. I always came to the same conclusion – that it was okay but also quite boring.

Since I moved one and a half year ago, they’ve changed the whole place. A few days ago, I visited it for the first time since the renovation, and wished I had done it before. Because suddenly Mokkariet has changed from boring to real good. People drink coffee with friends, study in front of their computer, sit and read in the window. There are many small tables, and the place is almost full.

At the wall in the room in the back of the café, there are old maps. I take a photo, because the colors match each other so good. I like it, because it’s always refreshing finding a café at Nørrebro that doesn’t use four shades of brown in all their decoration. I prefer a little bit of color on the walls’.
