Nicecreamcopenhagen: Great vegan ice cream

Spring has finally arrived in Copenhagen! I’ve put my winter coat in the wardrobe and the sun glasses in my bag, ready for a sunny May full of favorite activities.

Ice cream outside.
Rosé wine Friday afternoon.
Long walk in the parks.
Finally!

Last weekend was extra sunny and the Film Critic Guy and I stopped by Nicecreamcopenhagen, a small vegan ice cream shop in Elmegade (one of my favorite streets), for an ice cream in the sun.

I’m a lactose intolerant, so sometimes shopping for ice cream can be a bit hard. A few places in Copenhagen have a good dairy free selection, but most places just have the same boring sorbets over and over again. However, since Nicecreamcopenhagen is vegan, that means that their ice cream is lactose free as well. And honestly – I can’t remember when I walked in to an ice cream shop and could pick any ice cream that I wanted, but now it happened.

Nicecreamcopenhagen has a big selection. They usually both have popsicles, ice cream sandwiches and small bowls with ice cream, but since the spring finally has arrived in Copenhagen and we weren’t the only one going for ice cream, there were only popsicles left. I thought and thought about what flavor to pick (since most places only have the same lactose free sorbets, it took me a while to decide this time…) and finally decided to go with a peanut ice cream covered in dark chocolate. But only after the Film Critic Guy had promised me a bite of his – which was sea buckthorn covered in licorice and white chocolate. I mean seriously? So delicious!
