There will always be those places that you know about, but haven’t visited. Your friends keep talking about them, you bike pas them almost every week. In the end, you actually feel like you’ve been there, even if you haven’t. That was my relation to Clarkes (it used to be called Kaffebaren) i Elmegade for a loooong time. I mean, I knew about it. I passed it. I smiled at the sign in the window, which tells that the coffee bar serves wine in the evenings. But had I been there? No. It was almost embarrassing.

I had my first coffee at Clarkes/Kaffebaren with my good friend Karen. It was good. Nowadays, I go to Clarkes/Kaffebaren when it’s sunshine. Because there’s something about Elmegade, the street where it’s situated. It’s the hipster street. It’s where the students with the newest haircuts and the girls in vintage-dresses and new balance-sneakers hang out. It’s like a small party in the summer. The street is smiling and the people hanging out outside the different bars and stores are cool.

So, buy a coffee here when it’s sunshine. Go outside, and watch the people.
