When calling this article ”early breakfast”, you might think that I’m talking about places that serve breakfast from 6 or 7 AM. Well, that a bit too early. But it’s surprisingly hard to find a decent breakfast at 8 AM in Copenhagen as well, if you don’t know where to go. Here are three options that always deliver.

Café Parterre
If you’re close to Christianshavn, this is definitely a good place to go if you want some breakfast. Parterre opens at 7 AM, and serves a delicious breakfast all morning. You can pick and mix what ever you want, and on the menu you’ll find different kinds of bread and sandwiches, yoghurt, croissants and egg.
Address: Ovengaden Oven Vandet 90, Christianshavn

Café Auto
At Auto, as well as ithe sister cafés Taxa (Nørrebro) and Pixie (Østerbro), you get a complete breakfast for only 55 dkk every weekday between 8-10 AM. The menu changes a bit at the three different cafés, and at Auto you’ll get a soft-boiled egg, some yoghurt with müsli and berries, bread, ham and cheese. A coffee on the side, and you’re up running by no time.

GRØD
This sweet little café opens early. You can get some morning porridge from 7.30 AM at both Nørrebro and their small shop in Torvehallerne. A bowl of porridge costs around 55 dkk, and you’ll definitely be full until lunch. Porridge for breakfast might sound a bit boring, but I promise you that isn’t the case. This porridge is the best in town.
Address: Jægersborggade 50, Nørrebro and Torvehallerne
