I had passed Terroiristen many times, before I actually went inside. It took me a while, because I thought that the place looked to clean and minimalistic for me. Not at all like the coffee bars with second hand furniture where I usually hang out. However, when I finally dared to try the wine bar, I realized that I should have visited it much earlier. It might not look like a café from 1977, but it’s definitely for everyone and I often categorize it as one of the best wine bars’ in Copenhagen.
One of the reasons that I really like Terroiristen is the outstanding service. I believe that there are two types of wine bars; wine bars with a long menu where you can read what the wines taste like, and wine bars where you tell the waiter what you want, and then he/she comes up with a suggestion for you. Terroiristen belongs to the second category.
When seated inside, you try to explain what you like. If you know exactly what you like, it’s easy. I, however, never know exactly what I like, but I still end up with something good every single time. I’ve gotten some of my best wine experiences here, and the owner always makes me feel included and quite smart, rather than the opposite (and I’m not very smart when it comes to wine…).
When you leave, you get a small piece of paper, where you can read what you’ve had. That scores a few extra points in my book. Cheers!
